Puppet Trudeau (literally puppet of the Unipolar globalist establishment) parroted Obama’s remarks on the division of media and now the decline of mainstream establishment media. With the Internet as you know, truly independent voices have emerged, which counter and contradict the mainstream narrative and in many cases its indoctrination and propaganda.
Trudeau:
“There is out there a deliberate undermining of the mainstream media,” Trudeau said. “There are the conspiracy theorists, there are the social media drivers who are trying to do everything they can to keep people in their little filter bubbles, to prevent people from actually agreeing on a common set of facts, the way CBC and CTV – when they were our only sources of news – used to project across the country, at least a common understanding of things.”
There are massive changes that need to happen in our media landscape, and [the] government can try and create conditions and incentives for it to happen.”
“encrapification of news” (excerpts from Ryan Jespersen 30-minute interview on his Real Talk podcast)
Obama in July 2015 made the following comments to CBS News:
“The thing that I’m most worried about is the degree to which we now have a divided conversation in part because we have a divided media,” Obama said.
“When I was coming up you had three TV stations and people were getting a similar sense of what is true and what isn’t, what was real and what was not,” he said. “Today, what I’m most concerned about is the fact that because of the splintering of the media, we almost occupy different realities.”
These words especially Trudeau are of an authoritarian as reflected by the globalist establishment that seeks control over what people think.
Clearly, the globalist establishment is concerned that it is losing grip over what people think.
Currently, the Canadian federal government as an example is funding the mainstream media in excess of $366 million in 2023 (so much for independent broadcast media), requiring online subscriptions for mainstream news, (which Google accepted while Facebook rejected), blatant black list of independent voices and double journalistic standards, regulation of online media organizations’ content (control of their content, Bill C-11 (Online Streaming Act)), regulation and control of broadcast media content (Broadcast Act), taxation of bloggers’ revenue (which the government calls “social media influencers”), and now tax deductions for subscriptions to online mainstream news sources (digital news subscription).
From the Canadian Revenue Agency’s 2024 public tax form (tax deductions):

The digital news subscription pertains to tightly controlled mainstream establishment news.
Bill C-11’s intent and purpose are to control the content of broadcast media, which is directed at a mass of people.
The basic broadcast content is controlled, and there is a requirement to counter misinformation (or counter the truth?). In other words, a requirement to tow the government’s talking points such as on lockdowns and the Ukraine Proxy war.
Further Orwellian danger is the fact that the Canadian multi-controlled establishment is incrementally moving towards applying the Broadcast Act and its content control to online undertakings.
Currently, there is an intent by the establishment to apply the Broadcast Act to online undertakings that make revenue from their undertakings, and the online undertakings by the Broadcast media companies.
We anticipate that it may start by targeting online undertakings with high revenue. Rumble would be an obvious target.
The multi-controlled establishment does not like the current freedom to express oneself online, which helps explain rampant online censorship and government collusion with social media giants on censorship.

With increasing digitalization and spread of artificial intelligence including mass deployment of data collecting sensors and increasingly mind and body internal sensors (Neurolink recently announced a successful WIFI brain implant), people will face even more scrutiny for their freedom of expression.
The good news is that the globalist establishment is threatened by independent freedom of expression, which means truly independent voices are having an impact.
Would you prefer to live in a world with tightly controlled and regulated news or a world with a mix of controlled and regulated news and uncontrolled and unregulated news? A world where what you know is tightly controlled or a world where what you know is freely acquired from diverse sources?
